Show your support for breast cancer patients and their loved ones at these local charity events in October.

Give Pink Get More
Oct. 5
Each year throughout the month of October, retail shop Bloomingdale’s offers shoppers the chance to do good while they shop. Since the program’s inception, the company has raised more than $12 million for research, support and awareness programs at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The Carey Foundation and the Marisa Acocella Foundation. This year, the Tysons locations will kick off the promotion with a special all-pink yoga class where each participant will leave the workout feeling refreshed, with a pink yoga mat and giveaway bag in hand. // Bloomingdale’s Tysons Corner: 8100 Tysons Corner Center, McLean; prices vary

Fourth Annual The Pink Carpet Event Charity Fashion Show
Oct. 6, 6-9 p.m.
NoVA residents can come watch breast cancer survivors strut down the runway to benefit a good cause. Proceeds from the event go to the Patient Resource Center at the Sentara Northern Virginia Comprehensive Breast Center, a nonprofit hospital in Prince William County. // Riverside Center for the Performing Arts: 95 Riverside Parkway, Fredericksburg;  $60-$70

Seventh Annual Race for Every Woman 5K
Oct. 19, 9 a.m.
Support breast cancer patients across the globe by lacing up your sneaks for this annual event organized by Alpha Breast Cancer Support Services. Funds from the race will go toward efforts to purchase mammography devices and other services for women going through treatment in Ethiopia and Eritrea. // Barcroft Park: 4200 S. Community Walk-n-Talk with 2Unstoppable
Oct. 20, 9-11 a.m.
Each year, people from the Fairfax community and beyond gather together for this free workout hosted by nonprofit 2Unstoppable, recognizing the strength of all women touched by cancer. The day’s events will include an organized warmup led by a cancer exercise specialist, giveaways and a raffle. Plus, this year’s special guest is Dr. Elizabeth Feldman, a breast surgeon at Virginia Cancer Specialists, who will share her expertise and participate in the walk. // W&OD Trailhead, Arlington; free

Buck Breast Cancer Benefit
Oct. 24, 7 p.m.
As part of the annual Washington International Horse Show, this intimate dinner party will give participants the chance to celebrate the lives of cancer survivors and the families who stayed by their sides along the way. // Capital One Arena: 601 F St. NW, Washington, DC; $150

Real Kids Wear Pink of Loudoun
Oct. 25, times vary
Throw on your best shade of pink to show your support for Loudoun County’s littlest fundraisers. In support of the American Cancer Society, local kids will have the chance to decide how they raise money, whether it be with a pink-out sporting event or a spirit week, with all funds raised going to support breast cancer research. // Throughout Loudoun County; donations encouraged

Making Strides of Washington, DC
Oct. 26, 9:15 a.m.
Take a walk with members of the community for the American Cancer Society’s annual Making Strides event. As the largest network of breast cancer fighting events in the nation, the festivities are sure to bring in thousands together for a day of remembrance, celebration and support. // The Tidal Basin: 300 Raoul Wallenberg Place SW, Washington, DC; donations encouraged with registration
